DANIEL PITÍN:

CONCRETE FLOWERS

02 JULY - 30 AUGUST
23 BRUTON STREET, W1J 6QF

Blain is delighted to present: Concrete Flowers - an exhibition of psychologically charged paintings by the influential contemporary Czech painter, Daniel Pitín. For this, his first solo show in London, the artist has produced a new series of arresting and intriguing works, inspired by the impact of digital culture and artificial intelligence on humanity. Pitín is known for addressing political, architectural and psychological dystopias throughout his career. He became recognized for creating a unique way of painting - one that skilfully melds the aesthetics of film noir with collaged elements and classical painting virtuosity. This complex, plastic technique enabled Pitín to explore and combine disparate themes. These encompass memory, nostalgia, dystopia, the rise of surveillance and the growing phenomenon of societies producing digitally connected - but paradoxically isolated - individuals.
